Torch Award
The Torch Award is a distinguished recognition granted to Amber Fellows who exemplify academic excellence, servant leadership, and a strong commitment to personal and spiritual growth. Designed to inspire university men to lead with purpose, this award celebrates those who actively contribute to the mission of Amber Drive University Center through their studies, initiatives, and character.
The Torch
The torch represents light, direction, and purpose—drawing from a key idea in Opus Dei’s spirituality. St. Josemaría Escrivá taught that every person is called to “bring the light of God” into everyday life—through study, work, friendship, and service.
For university men, the torch stands as a symbol of leadership grounded in character. It reflects the drive to stand firm in one’s values, give clarity amid challenges, and influence others through perseverance and good example.
The Torch Award is given to those who live this spirit—young men who lead not by title, but by the way they serve, grow, and inspire others in the ordinary life.
