The Torch Awards recognize Amber students who exemplify the values of leadership, services, responsibility, and commitment to personal growth.

The torch symbolizes the passing of these values from one generation of students to the next.
What the Torch Represents
The torch represents light, direction, and purpose—an idea rooted in the spirituality of Josemaría Escrivá. He taught that every person is called to bring the light of God into everyday life through study, work, friendship, and service.
For university men, the torch symbolizes leadership grounded in character. It represents the courage to stand firm in one’s values, offer clarity in difficult moments, and influence others through perseverance and good example.
The Torch Award is given to students who live this spirit—young men who lead not by title, but by the way they serve, grow, and inspire others in ordinary life.
Pio
Torch Awardee 2025
Pio received the Torch Award for his leadership and dedication during his time at Amber. He was actively involved in many initiatives in the residence, helping organize activities that strengthened the community and encouraged fellow residents to participate more actively.
Through his quiet leadership and reliability, Pio became an inspiration to many younger residents, showing that leadership is often expressed through steady service and a willingness to help others grow.
Academically, Pio graduated Magna Cum Laude. During graduation, he delivered the valedictory speech, reflecting on the meaning of “The Good Life” and encouraging his fellow graduates to pursue success with purpose, responsibility, and service to others.
Today, Pio teaches at the university, continuing his commitment to learning and helping guide the next generation of students.
Jaime
Torch Awardee 2025
During his stay at Amber, Jaime became known for the strong friendships he built within the residence. He was always approachable and generous with his time, helping create the welcoming and supportive environment that many residents value at Amber.
Through daily interactions, mentoring conversations, and shared activities, Jaime grew in confidence and leadership. His presence encouraged many of his peers to participate more actively in residence life and to pursue their goals with greater discipline.
Jaime graduated Cum Laude, reflecting his commitment to both academic excellence and personal growth during his university years.
Today, he works as a Data Scientist, applying his analytical skills in a rapidly evolving field. Jaime’s journey continues to reflect the values he strengthened during his time at Amber: intellectual curiosity, friendship, and a dedication to doing meaningful work.
